July

July is...

fruity popsicles on the front porch steps
reading with my children during afternoon thunderstorms
building dripdrop sandcastles at Isle of Palms
relaxing evenings in the pool
baskets of South Carolina peaches
quiet time at the library
finding the perfect spot to watch the fireworks
late suppers of fresh corn, juicy tomatoes, and cold slices of watermelon
and one entire month free from school.

Why are you fond of July? I'd love to know!

  1. It's the opposite over here in Australia. Warm fires, jumpers and comfort food.

  2. When both hubby & I were teachers July was End of school year.
Now we are both retired I am not yet sure what July means. It still means Wedding Anniversary; our 38th this year.

  4. Oh I haven't had a peach that tasted like a real peach in so long. You described July well and very sweetly - It is the only month throughout the entire year that is ours just to enjoy. Happy summer to you and yours.

  5. Your description of July sounds wonderful! For us July means no school (preschool, that is) and hanging out at the beach and pool. Less "have to's" and more "want to's"...
