Menu Plan Monday. August 13, 2012

Happy Monday! Are you ready for a great week?
I'm looking forward to seeing with my nephews!

Last week, we tried a new recipe, Orzo with Parmesan and Basil. It was delicious! My children came down to the kitchen as I was starting dinner and they both jumped in to help. My daughter added ingredients to the orzo dish and my son stirred the carrots & onions until they were tender and then added lemon juice and parsley. There we were, the three of us in our little kitchen.... chatting and stirring...it was a rich moment!

What's cooking this week? Some old favorites and a new pasta salad. My friend, Becca, shared this recipe with me and I can't wait to try it.

Monday- Pizza, breadsticks, and salad. (It's sleepover night at our house!)
Tuesday- Summer Corn, Bacon, and Potato Chowder with a salad.
Wednesday- Tex Mex Pasta Salad
Thursday- leftovers
Friday- take out???
Saturday- Mustard Turkey Burgers with corn salad and watermelon.
Sunday- Tacos, salad, and fresh fruit.

Thanks for stopping by today! Before you go, Do your children help in the kitchen? I'd love to know!

xoxo Elizabeth

  1. Hi Elizabeth! I love your menus and that the kids are helping you in the kitchen. Sometimes I get stuck in a rut - especially when I'm busy. I still plan a weekly menu, but notice that I start choosing the same things over and over.

  2. Thank you, Jane! I understand. When we are busy, it's easier to go with something we already know how to prepare. (I always think new recipes take longer than they should... so much time looking at the recipe while cooking.)
