This time 18 years ago, we were leaving our wedding reception. (Also known as the hottest reception EVER!) Even though every day is not spent joyfully dashing through rose petals, I am very glad it is his hand I hold throughout this life.

Aw, what a beautiful sentiment! Happy Anniversary! We were at a very hot reception last year. It was in a very neat atrium - an old mall, really - but it did not have a/c. We melted but it was fun!

ReplyDeleteOh, I love this post. So simple. And SO true. Sometimes I think people think it's supposed to be all rose petals after the wedding, and it's definitely not. But the part where you still look at each other 18 years later and are happy to be running through even the yucky stuff together, is what makes a great marriage and a great family and a great lifetime.
