Sleeping under the Sharks and Menu Plan Monday June 4th

Happy Monday! Did you have a good weekend? Little Polka Dot and I went to the Myrtle Beach Aquarium with her girl scout troop. We spent the night under the shark tank! It was so much fun! We had a scavenger hunt around the aquarium, made colorful " fishy" magnets, and even held a horseshoe crab! I found out my daughter's favorite animal is an octopus! Sleeping under the shark tank was the highlight of the trip! I'm not sure how much I actually slept. Every time I opened my eyes, there were sharks, fish, and eels floating up above. It was really beautiful. So peaceful and quiet. All night, a soft light reflected on the blue ripples in the tank. Watching my daughter gaze at the moving shadows above us was magical.
Enjoying the Horseshoe Crabs

Well... I'll stop thinking about sharks and try to plan our menu for the week.
What will I be cooking in my kitchen? Definitely not fish sticks:)
Monday-
Lightning Fast Black Bean Quesadillas with salad and lime wedges.
Tuesday-
Sweet and Spicy Bacon Chicken with broccoli and potatoes.
Wednesday- leftovers

Thursday- Mexican Stuffed Peppers and salad.
Friday- Takeout sushi or pizza.

Saturday- Summer Corn, Bacon, and Potato Chowder and rolls.
Sunday- out to eat

What are you planning to cook this week? Something new or an old favorite?
I'd love to know!

Also, If you have questions about Sleeping Under the Sharks, please feel free to ask me!

  1. What a magical time you must have had with your daughter! I admit, I don't love walking through those shark tanks....I get a little claustrophobic!

  2. Jane, I was worried about being claustrophobic, but the tunnels were much wider than I expected!(about 6-7 feet wide.)

  3. Sounds magical, although I'm not sure I could do it either. I'd rather sleep over, not under the sharks ;)

  4. Hi Cinders! You are more brave than I am. If I slept over the sharks, I would be terrified the tank would break and I'd be shark bait!
