Menu Plan Monday. March 4, 2013

Hello! First of all, I would like to thank all of you for your kind comments on my post last Thursday! I am so thankful for you all! 

Our Menu Plan this week:

Monday- Sundried Tomato Pasta
Tuesday- Loaded Cauliflower Casserole and salad. (New dish... saw it on Pinterest!)
Wednesday- leftovers
Thursday- dinner out with a friend. Hubby and kids can wing it!
Friday- Homemade Pizza and salad.
Saturday- Tuna Noodle Casserole, peas, and rolls.
Sunday-dinner with friends.

I recently added a new line at Polka Dot Skies! I'm loving these easy elastic hair ties. I'm a ponytail girl, so I use them almost every day. My daughter loves them too! They are great for all ages. I see college gals wearing them all over town!

Busy, Busy, Busy

Busy, busy, busy!

What's making me spin in circles this week?

1) I'm Cookie Mom for my daughter's scout troop. Little Polka Dot and I have been sorting cookies all week. Boxes of Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, etc. are covering my dining room and living room. Saturday and Sunday will be selling cookies at local stores. The girls are so excited! I am too, but I'm not sure I should shout this to the world because then all the other moms will want to be Cookie Mom next year ;)

2) A Big Sale in My Shop! I've decided to stop selling hair bows. Gasp...I know! It was a tough decision, but I am ready for a change and I am excited to have more time to focus on some of my favorite items: fabric wreaths, and ribbon mobiles. I'll still be making ponytail buttons, too! I adore mixing and matching colors and patterns, so spending more time on these products will really make my heart sing! I'm adding the last of my bows a little at a time, so get them while you can! The prices are great and they are selling quickly!

3) Valentine's Day! Do you feel like valentine's week is always extra busy? Making valentines, finding little gifts for loved ones, and planning a special dinner or date with your favorite guy---it's all good stuff, but can leave a mama feeling a bit exhausted!

As I write about my crazy week, I know I am blessed. Blessed to have children who enjoy scouting. Blessed to have a creative business and great customers. Blessed to have a sweet family and dear friends who make Valentine's Day so very special!

What's been keeping you busy this week? I'd love to know!

3 Year ETSY-versary!

My very first Etsy sale!

Today is my 3 Year ETSY-versary!
Three years ago, my daughter had just started kindergarten and I was ready to have my own little shop. A friend told me about Etsy and I knew it would be the perfect venue. I listed my first items. It took forever. I did not even know how to upload pictures from my camera.
Three days later, I sold my first bow! It went to a sweet little girl in Florida. (Now I ship items all over the world!) I still get a little rush when customers place an order. It is a great feeling to know that others love my creations. I was very shy about my shop at first. It was several months and many sales later that I finally told my friends about Polka Dot Skies.

Thank you for 3 successful years!
I have made many wonderful friends who own their own shops.
I have been blessed to have lots of loyal customers.
I have increased my computer skills tremendously:)
I have received lots of encouragement from my sweet family and dear friends.
