Stitch Fix Review #4 Green Jeans

Stitch Fix #4
Hello Friends! Would you like to see my latest Stitch Fix? This is my 4th box. I love this service...cute clothes arrive on your doorstep...such an easy way to shop!

Let's dive in, shall we?
Under Skies
Leona Tonal Chevron Print Cross-Front Dress

Eight Sixty
Jaden Colorblock Trim Zip Detail Blouse

Margaret M
Duboce Straight Leg Jean

Pomelo
Missy Polka Dot Tab-Sleeve Blouse

Kut From The Cloth
Elliot Cargo Pocket Shorts
Style Card
Dress Things Up or Down
My thoughts...
I truly enjoy this service and love the pieces I have from Stitch Fix. Unfortunately, this box was a miss for so many reasons. I sent it all back. When you get online to leave feedback on your fix, there is a comment section for each item. Here is my feedback.

Under Skies Leona Tonal Chevron Print Cross-Front Dress
This was too big at the top and a little too short. I did not like the scooped hemline. Nice color.

Eight Sixty Jaden Colorblock Trim Zip Detail Blouse
I do not like decorative zippers...awful. Very edgy and not my style at all. Nice color.

Margaret M Duboce Straight Leg Jean
Please read my profile. I do not like super tight pants (on me). I had to struggle to get them on. Other reviews on these also mention how small they run. Great green color.

Pomelo Missy Polka Dot Tab-Sleeve Blouse
This fit well except when I pulled my arms forward, it felt tight across the back of my shoulders...there is no give in the fabric. I don't normally have this problem. Muted green is too drab for me.

Kut From The Cloth Elliot Cargo Pocket Shorts
These were too small and too short. I like this color for shorts.

This is me...wishing this color did not wash me out...

Final Thoughts on my feedback page: Disappointing fix. By the 4th one, I had hoped most of the things would have fit and felt like me. I am sad to lose my $20 styling fee:( I still love your service and I hope that my next box is fun of soft material, happy colors, and fun (mostly classic) patterns.

The good news about this fix?
Now I know how much I would love a pair of green jeans. I've never been brave enough to even try on colored jeans. Stitch Fix encourages me to try new things.
I also found a pair of shorts in the same color at REI. They are longer and fit well and I will live in them over the next few months! I am not normally drawn to army green, so this is a color I would have never considered before getting my Stitch Fix box.
I had a good laugh over trying on the green jeans. They say laughing makes you look and feel younger... I'd say I lost at least 5 years trying to get in those jeans.:)

Will I try Stitch Fix again? Yes! I have everything I need for Summer, so I scheduled a box for September. I like the convenience of scheduling monthly fixes or just ordering when you need a box.

Do you have a favorite item you will wear all the time? Since I've narrowed down my wardrobe, I truly love pieces that can be paired with many items and "make me feel like a million bucks"! I'd love to know what you will be living in all summer!

xoxo, Elizabeth

p.s. Not a raving review like my others, but I have hope for my next fix! If you are interested in trying Stitch Fix, you are welcome to use my link! I get a small credit for anyone who signs up. Stitch Fix does not let me know who uses the link, so I will say a big thank you now!

Stitch Fix Review #3 The Perfect Summer Top!

I just love Stitch Fix! Cute clothes arrive at my door and I keep what I like best!
No weary hours at the mall.
No wondering if the top I like will go with a skirt in my closet.
No worries that the sales lady thinks I am taking way to long to try on 5 things!

Box 3 was fun! This time my stylist sent two things I had pinned to my Pinterest board! Thank you, Ellen! Before opening this box, I reminded myself that I am trying to stick with a small wardrobe and would only buy something I truly loved and would wear all Spring and Summer. These are the pieces that arrived in my 3rd box!

Kut From The Kloth
Simmons Bootcut Jean $98

These were cute and long enough, but too short up top!

Collective Concepts
Christie Cross-Front Ruffle Detail Tank $64

Great color. "Butterfly" sleeves were too much for me.

Daniel Rainn
Bilson Pleat Detail Abstract Feather Print Blouse $68

This print was overwhelming on me.

Daniel Rainn
Lander Watercolor Floral Print Blouse $68

LOVE this top! I was thrilled to get it since I had pinned it to my Pinterest board. But the only thing I had to wear it with were my jeans...and it is getting hot in North Carolina. Sadly,  I sent this back with hopes that the next person who gets it will enjoy it. This will be "the one that got away".

Le Sample
Kahlo Embroidered Racerback Tank $48
Happy colors! Wonderful details! A clear winner!

Love, love, love this top!

The one that got away!
Denim and floral...such a great combination!

Overall, I am very pleased with my 3rd fix! I do not like shopping, but I love opening packages! I appreciate the stylist sending bright, happy items that were fun to try on. The style cards always inspire me to try new combinations and branch away from my typical "safe" style.

Dress things up or down!

Stitch Fix Review #2 No April Foolin' Around!

Well, I am officially hooked on Stitch Fix! I just received my second box and I am so happy with the goodies my stylist sent to me! It is April Fool's Day, but I promise, Stitch Fix is no joke!

Here are my favorite 3 items:

This shirt, I instantly fell in love with! It is soft and comfy. A little more bold than I would normally wear. That is what I like about Stitch Fix...it gets you out of your comfort zone. I wore this with my denim mini skirt they day it arrived! And I am a girl who always washes things first...that's how much I love it! :)

Loveappella
Baltimore Chevron Striped Knit Shirt
And this dress...I would not have given it a second glance at the store. I don't do fall colors. I am conservative when it comes to necklines. I was hesitant as I tried it on... and...  I like it... I feel good in it... I'm dreaming of wearing it to outdoor summer concerts!

Tulle
Gwen Abstract Print Keyhole Dress
This is the cutest skirt! I am crazy about bright colors. I am not sure about this item. It is darling, but I don't know if I need it. And that is important. I have another bright summer skirt I wear often. This one is $78 dollars. A little more than I normally pay for a casual skirt. But it is made in New York. I am willing to pay more for something made in our country. And how cool is Stitch Fix for offering items made here! I would love to know your thoughts. Should I keep this?

Leota
Haylee Chevron Print Swing Skirt

This skirt was made in New York!

Here is a list of all 5 items. The styling cards show two ways to use each piece. Dress things up or down!

Leota Haylee Chevron Print Swing Skirt $78- Perfect fit, and made in New York!
41 Hawthorn Filbert 3/4 Sleeve Popover Blouse $58 - Too sheer for me.
41 Hawthorn Alessandra Striped & Colorblocked Blouse $54 - Cute top, but too big under the arms.
Loveappella Baltimore Chevron Striped Knit Shirt $48 - Great fit! Fun, soft shirt! Made in the USA!
Tulle Gwen Abstract Print Keyhole Dress $58 - Out of my comfort zone, but I LOVE it! Such a comfortable dress!

Overall, I am very happy with my second fix! Courtney listened to my requests. She checked out my Pinterest style board for inspiration. The items fit into my price range. I asked for a colorful skirt for Spring. I also asked for something made in America and she found two things that I love and are made in the USA. Thank you, Courtney! I appreciate the extra time you took making sure I had a great box!

If you all have any questions, please let me know. I feel like I have been posting more about clothing than ever before. I spent time cleaning out my closet in January and I am dedicated to only adding things I truly love, feel good in, and will use often. I would rather have 33 pieces I enjoy than 100 pieces that are so-so.

Menu Plan Monday and my Stitch Fix Dress! March 31, 2014

Hello Friends,
I hope you all had a good weekend! Ours was fun! My son took his first karate test and earned his orange belt! Little Polka Dot and her dad went to the Father Daughter dance at school, we helped at the church yard sale, and went bowling with our youth group.
What did you do this weekend?

I know most folks hate Mondays, but I like the fresh start...how about you?
What's cooking in our kitchen this week? So many good things! I have been eating gluten-free for the last 6 months. I can easily substitute gluten-free noodles and corn tortillas.

Monday- Slow Cooker Spaghetti Bolognese (Without meat and with gluten-free noodles.)
Tuesday- leftovers
Wednesday- Tex-Mex Fajitas with fresh fruits and veggies. (I will use corn tortillas.)
Thursday- leftovers
Friday- pizza night! (I will have a big salad.)
Saturday- Fresh Spring Rolls with Peanut Dipping Sauce
Sunday- dinner with friends:)

I also shared my simple way to get my family to eat more veggies last week. I will be adding this at every meal.

I promised I would share a picture of my new dress from Stitch Fix! I'll share two...one with a scarf and one with a necklace! Which do you like best? Thanks for your help! You can follow my referral link if you would like a Stitch Fix box of surprises!

Stitch Fix Review #1 A Colorful Spring Dress

Hi Friends! I hope you all are doing well and looking forward to a great week! The last two days in Charlotte have been sunny and warm. Spring is on the way!

I needed a new Spring dress for my upcoming college reunion, so I thought I would give Stitch Fix a try. I do not like shopping for clothes. When I discovered a box of clothes selected by a stylist especially for me could arrive at my doorstep, I did not hesitate!

Have you heard of Stitch Fix? A stylist sends you 5 items selected to fit you and your style...or help you branch out a little if you are in a rut. It is very easy!

1) Fill out a profile about sizes and styles you like. Give an estimate of the price you will to pay for tops, pants, dresses, etc. You can choose to receive all clothes or you can ask to receive jewelry, a handbag, or a scarf with your fix. You can leave a link to your Pinterest style page. There is also space for extra comments. I left this mini book for my stylist to read:)
"Love simple stylish things. Do not like big drape necklines or decorative zippers. Comfort over style most days, but if I can combine the two, that will be great! Love patterns, but nothing too bold or geometric! Love a-line skirts that are at least knee length but not fluffy skirts.  No lace, metallics, embellishments, or odd cutouts. Thank you!"

2) Schedule your fix. The $20 styling fee includes styling and postage to and from your home. If you keep at least one of your items, the styling fee is deducted from your item! For example,  if you keep a $30 scarf, you will only pay and additional $10.

3) When your fix arrives, you have 3 days to try your items and decide what to keep. The items you do not want are placed in a postage paid envelope that comes with your fix. Drop it in your mailbox to return to Stitch Fix.  If you decide to keep all 5 items, you get 25% off your total.

I was pretty excited when this box showed up at my door!

Here is a list of my goodies! I love the styling ideas to dress things up or down. You can try every piece with items you already have in your closet. This is my favorite thing about Stitch Fix!

41 Hawthorn Freddy Sleeveless Chiffon Dress $58 Perfect fit and color!
Katherine Barclay Nadia Ponte Pencil Skirt $98 Great color...too pricey!
Tart Benni Ikat Print Knit Shirt $84 Too crazy and bold for me.
Pomelo Ivy Colorblock Tab-Sleeve Blouse $68 This was a little big and I did not like the colorblocking.
Kensie Jeans Sophia Ankle Length Skinny Jean $88 Very comfy. Fit well except they needed another inch on top because I am tall. I do not want to tug at the back of my jeans when I sit down.

41 Hawthorn
Freddy Sleeveless Chiffon Dress $58

I kept the dress! It is comfortable and I love wearing bright colors! It will be perfect for Spring and Summer! And I love that it matches a long necklace my daughter gave me for Christmas:)
Overall, I was pleased with my first fix! It was fun and I have heard the stylists get to know you better with time and detailed feedback. All of the shirts cost more than I would normally spend on a top. Hopefully next time, the stylist will pay more attention to my prices. Also, I am not sure the stylist looked at my Pinterest style board, so I made a note of that when I left feedback.

If you hate shopping and want to try Stitch Fix, you are welcome to use my referral link. I will get a $25 credit if you sign up. I will not see who it is from, so if you do, please know that I am very appreciative! I hope your box is as much fun as mine has been!

If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment. I will reply right here on this post.

Hope you all have a wonderful week! Is it sunny in your town yet?

xoxo Elizabeth
